Coach Brandon Flanagan has been a head coach at River Dell High School over 20 years.  During his tenure at the school he has accumulated close to 300 wins.  The Golden Hawks have won 2 league titles and has been to 11 Bergen County tournaments and 13 consecutive state tournaments.  Coach Flanagan has twice been named as assistant coach on the NJ state all star team and was selected BCSL American Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2006.  In 2006 he was also named Star Ledger Bergen County Coach of the year after leading the Hawks to a 24 – 6 record and finishing 4th in the Bergen Record’s top 25.  In his tenure, River Dell has had ten 1st team all-county and over a dozen 2nd and 3rd team all county players.  Over 2 dozen of his players have gone on to play in college and 3 have been drafted by MLB teams.  Brandon began his coaching career in 1994 at Northern Valley Demarest High School under Bergen County legend Greg Butler.  After that he spent 2 seasons as an assistant coach at Bogota High School before moving on to River Dell where he was an assistant on 3 consecutive league title teams before becoming head coach.
